Please find below an update from Wokingham Borough Council.
Social distancing:
We have had only a very small number of reports of social distancing advice being ignored in Wokingham borough this weekend (March 28 / 29). Increased signage, patrols, social media and the colder weather seem to have helped.
Thank you to those who have reported the few concerns, these have been acted upon swiftly with increased signage, visits from officers and notification to the police.
Community and Adult Social Care response:
Social care has been at the forefront of our response. To date we have:
Supported the delivery of about 120 food parcels from the Community Hub
Made almost 1,800 calls to vulnerable residents in the past two weeks to check on their welfare and needs
Undertaken regular checks on 200 especially vulnerable residents to ensure they’re safe
Increased the number of spaces we have available in care and support areas to help us with increased hospital discharge
Promoted and coordinated a volunteering drive that has organised 500 volunteers to distribute essential supplies to all our vulnerable people as we understand need.
Kept our critical social care functions running
